Extraction of Timber from Tormore Forest

We have been advised today that the Community Trust are likely to start the extraction of timber from Tormore Forest on or around 17th June. The Haulage Accord, the guidelines to allow the road transport of the timber was approved this week by the Highland Council. It is proposed that the transport operation will be for around 22 weeks, will include the school holidays, but is expected to average around 4.5 full lorry movements each day Mon-Fri, which is an average of 1.5 less than the the first phase.

If residents need to know further information please contact the Community Council via the CONTACT US page, or speak to Chris Marsh at the Sleat Community Trust  email chris@sleat.org.uk
