Highland Local Development Plan 2025-2027

On 13th March SCC vice-chair Janet MacDonald attended a webinar hosted by the Highland Development Plans team from Highland Council.

This was an introduction for the new Highland Local Development Plan which is now underway and is planned to be adopted in late 2027. It is Scottish Government requirement for all local authorities to produce their own plan. The existing 'West Plan' was adopted on 30th September 2019.

You can view the slides from the presentation at the link below.

In short, the HLDP is the council's vision for planning for the future but with significant community engagement as the plan is developed. You can have your say now in a consultation that has been extended to 2nd May. This is the link.
