Result of vote at Highland Council regarding Service Points

The full Highland Council meeting has just voted 43 to 31 in favour of the Notice of Amendment that will allow a 15 month case by case review of each of the Service Points highlighted. This will be supervised by a cross-party steering group of 10 Members with delegated powers, which could result in the final decisions going again to the full Council meeting.
There has been over 2 hours of debate with a varied range of views. Clearly there has been a recognition by Highland Council that the Review has been badly handled and some mistakes have been made and now there is an opportunity for all parties, including the Community Councils to have a direct involvement in shaping the customer service facility that Highland Council have committed to provide.
