The David MacBrayne's Response to the Ferries Review
Added on 03 April 2012
Following the end of the consultation period for the Scottish Government Ferries Review on 30th March The David MacBrayne Group have published their formal response to Transport Scotland. The link to this story can be found by clicking here . Several key points of this document relate to Skye and this is their response for our area.
'All routes have generally higher revenues and hence, lower subsidies in the Summer; therefore it not clear whether this is of any significance on this route'
For further interest CalMac's parent company do support the introduction of the Mallaig Lochboisdale service, but do recognise that Barra feels that it also wishes to retain it's service to Oban.
We have also shown MacBrayne's letter to Transport Scotland which summaries their response. Click here
The Sleat Community Council is happy to answer any resident's questions in regards to the Ferries Review, so please get in touch if the Councillors can help in any way.
