Sleat Community Council

Comhairle Choimhearsnachd Shlèite

Message from the Policy group at Highland Council

Added on 14 August 2013

Over Summer 2013, Marine Scotland will consult on a number of proposals to take forward integrated marine planning for Scotland’s seas. This will include:

• A National Marine Plan

• Marine Protected Areas

• Sectoral Marine Plans for Offshore Renewable Energy

• Priority Marine Features

• Integration with Terrestrial Planning

The consultation will run until the 13th November 2013 and further information including details of how to respond to the consultation proposals is available from our website: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/marineconsultation

However, I would particularly like to draw your attention to the series of public events we will be holding around Scotland to explain more about the consultation. These events are free and open to everyone: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/marine/marine-consultation/events

I would be grateful if you could disseminate this email to all Community Councils in your respective areas.

Kind regards,

Kirsty Howaniec
