Scottish Community Councils

The following letter was posted in the Oban Times of 22nd August.

Sir, 

It is always interesting to read how well, or otherwise, community councils are doing.

I recall a few years ago taking a local worthy to his first  meeting and as it turned out, his last.

As we left the village hall I asked him what he thought of it all, 'Like a bad ceiliidh without the alcohol' was his response.
